See discussion. Discussion A patient has a diagnosis of CML in 2008 followed by a diagnosis of CLL in 2011. The patient started nilotinib in 10/2011 for the CML (per physician statement). SEER*Rx lists CML and GIST only as primary site/histology combinations for nilotinib. Can nilotinib be coded as treatment for the CLL primary? Answer SEER*Rx lists the approved sites/histologies for each drug. If you have a physician statement documenting that the drug was given for another site/histology, code as treatment for that site/histology.
