Discussion Answer This case is not reportable. Sclerosing extramedullary myeloid tumor is frequently a manifestation of MPN (primary myelofibrosis or polycythemia vera), and rarely in chronic myeloid leukemia. There are times that the extramedullary myeloid tumor precedes the diagnosis of a malignancy.
If the patient has primary myelofibrosis, polycythemia vera, or chronic myeloid leukemia, report that neoplasm.
