Data Citation

The citation for each database provided by SEER should include information about the data submission and release date. The name of the selected database in SEER*Stat and full citation is shown on SEER*Stat's data tab and in print-outs of sessions and results.

The following are examples of citations for SEER Research, U.S. Mortality, and U.S. Population data, but the database name, release date, and submission will vary for each databases.

SEER Research Data 1975-2020 when Using SEER*Stat:

When publishing statistics using these data, you should describe the subset of data used. For example, indicate years of diagnosis and the registries included in the analysis.

Citation for SEER*Stat Software

If you use SEER*Stat to analyze your data or data provided by SEER, include the following citation. Replace <version number> with the version of SEER*Stat that was used. The citation including the version number can be seen by selecting Suggested Citations on SEER*Stat's help menu and in print-outs of sessions and results.
